Cafosa obtains FSSC 22000:2010 certification

Last June 2012, Cafosa achieved the FSSC 22000:2010 certification by LRQA (Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance).

FSSC 22000:2010 is the latest international standard developed for the certification of food safety management systems for food manufacturers.

It combines the requirements of ISO 22000:2005 (food safety management systems requirements) and PASS220:2008 (prerequisite programs on food safety for food manufacturing).

The FSSC 22000:2010 scheme is fully recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GSFI), the benchmarking body for the harmonization of international food safety standards, along with other food safety management schemes like the BRC, IFS and SQF.

The added value of this certification is that the management of the food safety system goes beyond ISO 22000:2005 with a special focus on HACCP prerequisite programs. It assures the highest recognized level of our food safety management system along the whole supply chain as well as those other globally recognized standards.

With that certification we will be able to focus our food safety efforts on scientific and technical advances and to devote our audit resources to improvement rather than compliance.
